Tom Williams

Profile

Mark has recently transitioned to the life insurance business after a long career in finance and manufacturing. Upon graduating Magna Cum Laude from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 1988, Mark began his career with a large public accounting firm, working with diversified industry clients and a concentration in manufacturing. After five years in public accounting, he joined an international telecom/manufacturing company as Corporate Controller. Eight years later, Mark became CFO and then CEO/President of a privately owned packaging manufacturer. As CEO, he led the transition of the company to value-added product lines and customers. This transition required substantial capital investment, and Mark’s background in finance was pivotal in navigating leverage and financing relationships through massive changes in 2007 and 2008.

After a 16-year tenure, the founding family of the business desired an exit strategy, and Mark led the process to position, market, and sell the business to meet the shareholders’ goals. At the end of 2016, the business was sold to a public company in the packaging industry.

Mark joined an equipment manufacturing business late 2018 for the primary purpose of creating and then executing an exit strategy for the shareholders. Despite the pandemic delay, the shareholders’ goals were achieved at the end of 2021.

Mark is proud that for both business transactions, the shareholders’ expectations were not only met, but exceeded.

Together, Mark and his wife Leslie have five daughters and one granddaughter. They live in Hilton Head Island, S.C. where they enjoy the outdoor coastal lifestyle, beauty of the island, and times spent with family and friends.
